How is something cleaned when it is dry cleaned?

Question:If i dry clean something, will it get out all the dirt, germs, and possible infectuous things like ringworm or mites?

Dry cleaning uses a chemical almost any cleaning agent that does not use water can be described as dry cleaning.

The one used at present is tetrachloroethylene

It has a chlorine base which is a very poisonous substance to most living things which is why it is used in swimming pools.
