Presoak the clothes in just enough water to cover them and 1 cup of white vinegar or lemon juice for each gallon of water. Let them soak over night and then wash them again. The reason they smell is because they have started to mildew. Check to make sure there are no mildew stains, before you rewash them. If there are any stains soak the spots in lemon juice and put them in the sunshine.
Wash the load of clothes again.
Using drier sheets or strong smelling detergent, or even Fabreze, only cover up the smell but you need to neutralize the mildew to really solve the problem.

She is probably right. Women know these things!
No they won't but you may need to wash them a few times
typical bloke! The clothes are probably rotten!
What you need to do is dry your clothes before you wash them again. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times to get rid of the smell completely.
You could try washing it again with a cup of vinegar added to the water. using bold liquid might mask any remaining smell
It'll probably be OK after a couple of successive washes.
thats true. the clothes which are soaked for more than a day tend to giv out an awful stink. U better dont go near ur gf with thise clothes on or else she will abandon u
Not forever but it will definitely smell damp. You'll have to wash that washing again and try to dry the clothes outside on the line rather than in the dryer. Try putting a few Bounce sheets or add some fabric softener because that usually helps to make clothes smell nice.
Ew...what are you guys like? They won't stink forever, but you do need to was them quite a few times & use a nice fabric conditioner to get rid of the smell
lol

What a shame. A typical 'man' mistake. But you're clothes aren't totally ruined. Yes, a few washes, air them out well, lots of conditioner, and hopefully you will save them.

But don't wear them when you're girlfriend's near. No matter how well you wash them, she is going to smell the dank smell. : )
they will be a bit wiffy, but all you have to do is wash them again and they should be fine.
She's wright you know.
Sling the lot out, washing the machine the lot but keep
the electric plug it might come in handy,Ive got a box full.
Its extremely difficult to get rid of that smell.in fact impossible. i agree with your girlfriend, as from my own experience I have had to throw clothes away too.
wash it a few times the smell should go then. if they have gone mouldy then you can't get rid of this.
Not true, your clothes won't stink forever if you use this method, just pour in one to one and half cups of White Vinegar in your wash water no added detergent then put through a full cycle, use the hottest water your clothes can stand with this method, you can then on any of your wash loads use this treatment with your clothes if you wish use some vinegar to soften and deodorize your clothes by pouring some into the fabric softner dispenser instead of fabric softner, vinegar will soften and lessen the static on your clothes, it also freshens and will remove stains from your clothes. Vinegar is an all purpose cleaner and is touted as being the best disinfectant in the world. Good Luck !
don't sweat it. Re-wash the clothes but this time use 1 cup of regular ammonia and about half the detergent you would normally use. To make sure the smell is completely gone use a liquid fabric softener in the wash cycle that contains fabreeze. this should work it has for me. Good Luck!
No take them out and try them in the sun then rewash in water with a little bleach... not alot of bleach. Then wash them one more time in regular detergent.
Try adding baking soda to the wash. Baking soda is used for a lot of different things including absorbing smells. Good luck.
nah just wash it all again and use conditioner make sure you dry it properly
never a truer word spoken
