Hi everyone how do i keep my seat belts clean so they slide back in properly?

hi, Ive never done this but i would suggest that in order that the seat belts run through properly spray some furniture polish on them this will let it glide smoother.
If you make sure that the belt is straight after you're done using it rather than just releasing it, it should be ok. Once I started paying attention to the belt after getting out of the car & making sure it wasn't twisted, I no longer had a dirt/grease problem.
If the do get a little grubby (and if they're not black it can happen) try wiping them down with some baby-wipes.
I also use baby-wipes on the dashboard and instrument panel.
And they make the car smell nice!
DO NOT USE FURNITURE POLISH. It has an Olly base and will only attract more dirt. Use a degreaser type cleaner. Put the cleaner on a damp towel and run it up and down on the entire length of the belt.
Next try to determine why it got dirty in the first place. From dirt on your hand transferring, or from the lubricant in the actual belt mechanism. Knowing the source will help keep it cleaner longer.
Use WD-40 to clean and protect and keep them working properly. Good Luck !
once they are clean with soapy water and dry, spray silicone spray on them
How are you getting them dirty? I have never had the need to do anything to mine!
you can buy teflon spray and this puts a coating on them and also stops dirt settling .
I'm not sure about cleaning them, but the baby wipes idea seems good. After cleaning them, rub them down with bees' wax. My daddy and grandaddy were shoe repairmen and used the wax on the thick sewing thread so it would move through the leather better.
