What sort of degreaser can i get to clean saftey belts on a car?
Question:
Answers:
If the item has been soiled with grease or oil it will be very difficult to remove without a solvent. The key is to use a fairly non aggressive solvent. I would use a swab soaked in white spirit or naphthalene to wipe off the surface soil and then wash the belt in household detergent and warm water. Leave to dry and then wipe again with a dry cloth. Do not use any really aggressive agent as this may cause the fibres of the belt to weaken.
Groom aerosol from car accessory shops.
Simple Green, Mr. Clean, Pine Sol.
Undiluted White Vinegar will degrease anything, just apply a small amount to a white rag and rub the webbing of the safety belts until the grease has dissolved. Good Luck !
