How do I remove cloudlike smears on a mirror?

Question:I've tried every type of cleaner and scrubbing pads.
It disappears when I wash it but reappears seconds later after it dries. It has a different feel than non affected parts of the mirror.

Answers:
Use white vinegar and newspaper to buff dry.

Spit!!!
after cleaning it with windex. use a clean cloth , not paper towel, to buff it... if that doesn't work it may be on the other side of the glass...
use a glasses cleaner and use a glasses cloth
contact solution works also...then wipe dry
