i work at a flooring store ( for 20 + yrs. ) the best cleaner is capture or nylac.
I found a great one at the automotive parts store called lifer one. It costs $4.44 but they frequently have a BOGO offer!
It actually does what it claims to do!
go to the office of your apartment complex and find out who they use to clean their units. if you can be flexible on time and days they may give you a great deal on cleaning you carpet regularly when they are already on the property i have charged as litle as $10.00 for lunch money.
