Ways to get rid of sticky stuff??

Question:Fo rmy friends b-day. I got her a craft box and filling it with different kinds of beads. But first I'm going to decorate the craft box. I took off the label, it covered most of the top, so I could decorate it, but it left a sticky residue type of thing. (Sorta like when you have a sticker on the window for a while, then try to take it off) I tried washing it, washing it with dish soap, nail polish remover, and goo gone. It won't come off! : ( Is there a specail way that your supposed to use goo gone, i just put it on, let is sit for 3 min, then washed it off? what are some other ways that I could get it off? I need to decorate the box today, her party is tommorro. Thanks in advance!

Answers:
peanut butter

rub it on let it sit a few minutes and use dry cloth to wipe it off then wash

Sometimes heating it with a blow dryer gets it loose enough to roll off with some patience. Annoying when the stores do that with labels.
Rubbing alcohol works the best as it breaks down the adhesive.
