My 2-yr-old spilled ( deep purple!) arcrylic paint on my new short shag carpet...?
Question:I scraped off the excess with a credit card, treated it with Spot Shot and a few other carpet stain removers. After saturating it with water, I used my Hoover Steam vacuum on it , and the stain reappeared a few hours later, much lighter. Is there a way to remove it permanently from the backing without calling in a company to do it professionally?

Probably going to have to replace a little of the carpet, got some left?
I would try oxy clean mix it with hot water and spray on the spot, let it sit a minute and it will bring it out.
I used this to get (wet) pink fingernail polish out of light grey carpet. You can't even tell it was there.
Much cheaper than a pro.
