I am moving and need to clean my toilet. Problem is that the water is hard and I need a VERY STRONG cleaner.?
Question:The buildup on the bowl is caked on. Does anybody know of a sure fire way to clean it? I have tried straight bleach and that doesn't even work.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

THE WORKS~toliet bowl cleaner. This worked when nothing else did! They have it at Walmart. Dollar General and most Dollar Tree stores. It's not that expensive and it does the job! We had a rental house that the people left a total MESS! the 1st time I put in the bowl and left it overnight and almost all was gone- I did it again the next day and with a couple swishes of the brush- it was great!
oxiclean, it is a miracle product, put it in there and let it sit for at least 30 mintues and then you should be able to wipe away, read instructions on package to be sure
The best cleaner is good ole elbow grease. Sorry, but it's true. Buy a pumice stone. These are great for cleaning toilets with bad buildup. They are little white brick-like stones usually found with other cleaners or maybe in the bathroom/plumbing aisle. It might sound like it's scratching your toilet but unless your toilet is made of something other than the normal porcelain/ceramic, it won't scratch. It will wear away at the stone and will soon shape to the bowl and clean more area at a time. Wear rubber gloves.
Next time, try swishing your toilet brush around the toilet every morning as you get ready for the day. You won't ever have to use a cleaner again, and it takes less than a minute.
Try some Lysol toilet bowl cleaner, let it soak for 15-20 mins, scrub with brush, flush.;)
Best bet is to get a pumie stone its called, they should sell it at a home depot. It wont hurt the toliet bowl, but it will do the trick.
Yes, go to your local Wal-Mart and buy some Snobol, the stuff works great without scrubbing!
costic soda will clean any toilet anytime
Since it appears that you have hard water deposits, vinegar is a friendly solution. White vinegar is cheap, buy 3 or 4 gallons if you have to and you can even put in the tank. If your deposits are severe you may have to use a commerical de-limer such as "Lime-Away" or CLR (Calcium, Lime, Rust) which are brand names. They are available in any cleaning aisle even at your grocery store. These will act more quickly than vinegar but are stronger and need more caution. Consider using a bent coat hanger hook to clean the holes under the rim until the toilet flushes well. Caustic Soda is volatile and more often used for plugged drains. Abrasives such as pumice stone won't help with plugged orifices. Try this first.
Its called The Works- it is great for hard water stains I have tryed CLR and lime away and they dont work half as good as The works
Go to the hardware store and buy a box of Iron-Out. Same product they use in water softeners to dissolve the iron deposits.
