My dishwasher doesn't seem to be getting my dishes clean, also there is a gross film all over the inside?

Try running an empty load vith just white vinegar in the soap dispenser. It will break down any slime caused by the water or some leftover food. If that doesn't work, check the trap in the bottom - you might have to take out the bottom drawer and almost crawl in there, but clean it out if it's clogged. If your dishwasher is new and still under warranty, I would consider calling the manufacturer. If you rent your home, I would let your landlord know so you don't have to pay to have it fixed.

get a new one.
make sure you rinse them better before you put them in there that may help.
If you have any powdered drink mix (Ice-t, kool-aid, gatorade) put that in your empty dishwasher and run it. That will clean and freshen the dishwasher and take away that slime. It will also make it smell nice. I do this about once a month
it may not be your dishwasher but the water. sometimes you can buy tablets to go in there while it washes..it helps neutralize stuff in the water. a relative of mine used to put a cup of bleach in the dishwasher before she ran it... the dishwasher came back very clean.
I think maybe you have lime scale caused by 'hard' water.
You will probably find the same in your washing machine and electric kettle.

You can get stuff ( like tablets) to put in the machine to get rid of the scale.
Lime scale can actually cause a machine to fail prematurely so you should treat it quickly.

There's probably similar products where you live.
It sounds like the wands are plugged up with food and mineral deposits. You need to unscrew them and clean them out. Take them outside and use the hose with hard stream to break up the deposits. You can also try using air if you have an air compressor. After you get out all of the smaller objects, you might have to use tweezers and a some clothes hanger wire to get out the bigger pieces. As far as the film is concerned, it sounds like you have extremely hard water and need to use Jet Dry. Once you get the wands all cleaned out, your dish washer will work like new. I know, the same thing happened to me! Good luck!
Use some Rinse Aid. Call the customer care people and make them earn their keep.
either get it check out. It could be some bad stuff going on in there or do as the person before me said, get a new one
Many factors can cause this condition.

Check the jet orifices to see that they are clear. These are the holes on the "propeller" type mechanisms inside the washer. They sometimes clog with debris.

Many washers have a filter or screen (sometimes more than one) located at the bottom of the tub. You may have to unscrew the cover to clear. One screen prevents debris from going through the recirculation pump.

Many areas require a device called an Air Gap. This prevents waste water from backfeeding into the washer. Another common technique is to loop the waste water hose before it attaches to your sinks elbow.

Some of the newer detergents will stain if used with the "sani" or very hot water setting.

Try a cup of distilled white vinegar in the tub before washing. This helps to prevent any film from building.

Good luck.
wash off the dish
lemi-shine from wal-mart works wonders. the film i had was from hard water and it cleared right up.
when was the last time you cleaned your dishwasher. you must clean it, for it to clean your dishes. there are products in the dishwashing liquid aisle, they are not expensive, but necessary. also be sure to use a rinse agent. at the end of the washing cycle, i always open up the door and shake my dishes. this shakes the excess water off and makes drying more effective.
As far as the dishwasher goes I dump one whole package of "tang" orange crystals into an empty dishwasher and put it through a full cycle. It may take a few times to get it totally clean. This may also help with you dish situation. You can also use the "tang" method for cleaning the inside of kettles.
