How do you clean a hardwood floor without stripping it?

Question:my landlord redone my floor and i've been using just hot water, is there something else i could use?

Answers:
i own a hardwood floor refinishing co. NEVER EVER EVER USE MURPHYS OIL SOAP!! it is the worst ******* product ever made!! when/if u ever go to redo ur hardwood floor, that oil seeps down into the wood, and it will push the new finish up off of the floor. Our grandmothers will tell us different, but im a member of the national hardwood floor association, and everyone will agree. use a product by a company named BONA. go to their official website and for 59.99 you can get a whole cleaning system, that is proven and has been around for years. trust me if ur not satisfied, ill buy the unused from ya.

The best one I found is OrangeGlo hardwood floor cleaner
Murphey's Oil Soap is good for cleaning wood floors, and not too expensive.
Hot water & Lemon juice. Just a little bit from concentrate.
Murphy's oil soap is wonderful! You can find it just about anywhere and it is not that expensive. Good Luck!
I'm going to agree with Lana. Orange Glow is excellent. I use it on my hardwood floors and it really does protect and shine. You should be able to find it at Wallmart as well. It comes as a kit - Mop and cleaning solution. Should be under $20.00
You can find special products in any hardware store-Home Depot,Menards-there are plenty to choose from,or simply add vinegar to water and use it to clean the floor.
Just use something like **** and Span; as long as you are not using something harsh like Acetone, paint thinner, mineral spirits, etc it should be fine..I also would avoid abrasives like comet or anything that has granular components...
Tea is a great cleaner for wood because of the tannic acid. Brew 1 quart of boiling water with 1 or 2 tea bags. Let it come to room temperature. Wring out a soft cloth to just damp and wash floor, keeping the rag clean. Do not over-wet the floor. This will clean the floor and cover any imperfections. Buff with a soft cloth if desired.
murphy's oil soap with hot water. mix in a bucket according to directions and squeeze the mop really good before you begin mopping
There are a lot of good hardwood floor cleaners available at the store. I like Orange Glow, but my mom prefers a different brand. Part of it, I think, depends on your floors.
