How do I clean a/c filters?

Question:

Answers:
you can only clean them if they are washable filters. The best way is to use a sprayer going in the opposite direction of the air flow so as to "backwash" all the dirt. You can use a hose if you have one or a sink/shower sprayer will work as well. Hot water also helps if you have an inside sprayer. be sure to shake it out and let it dry thoroughly.

Pull them out and take them to a soapy sink. Brush them down and rinse well.

Unless they are paper, of course...
by throwing them away.
There should be a way on your A/C to slip out the filter behind the front grill. Look for a little door or trap opening. Slide it out and vacuum with an attachment on your vacuum or brush the dust off into the garbage with a dry brush or broom. You'll be surprised at how much dust can accumulate and people don't even think of cleaning their air filters on their A/C.
cheaper to go buy new ones, most are a paper filter anyhow,

pull them out and go to hardware store,
