Does anyone know of a good way to wash your pillows at home?
Question:I have put them in the washer, but I am always worried that I will wreck it! Guess I may have to break down and take them to the dry cleaners. Seems like such a pain in the butt!! I don't drive! My bf doesn't think that is very important, throw them out and buy new ones!! What a waste of money when they are perfectly fine, just need to be cleaned!!

i would say to put them in the washer machine, I do it. Sometimes the pillows could get a lil lumpy but then i just beat it until it about normal again. I am a freak about that i have to wash my pillows twice a month or once a month
Soak them in the bath tub, with warm water and your washing powder, Leave them for 1/2 hr. drain all the water out, then rinse them with the shower. Hang outside in the sun, The sun will bleach them whiter than white this way
There should be a tag on the pillow that says how to wash your pillows.
What i do is put the pillow in the washeron warm and it helps refluff the pillow and then stick in in the dryer.
Wash them in the washer with any laundry detergent on the cold water/regular cycle. The trick to keeping them fluffy is when drying, reposition and fluff about every fifteen minutes. Make sure that they are thoroughly dry before placing them in pillow protectors. Spot clean any stains on pillows asap. Wash your pillow protectors every week.
If you have a front loading washer put it in there with a pair of washable shoes. it helps keep it form getting all twisted up in the washer and dryer. If you don't have a front loader just take it to your friendly neighborhood laundry mat. Why pay someone big bucks when you can do it yourself, right?
i throw mine in the washer all the time, even my down filled one's, why waste the money at the cleaners, that would cut into my cocktail money....lol
