Put an ice cube or two on the gum. Let it freeze it and break it off while it's hard. It may take a couple of times, but it works.

Dry ice works faster...

I've heard spraying it with compressed air from a can works well too.

Try rubbing an ice cube on it to make the gum brittle and peel it off. Otherwise, try spraying WD-40 onto the gum to loosen it from the fabric.
