How do I get cigarette smell out of a leather purse?
Question:My friend gave me a real nice leather purse. I can't wait to use it. There's only one problem, it wreaks of cigarettes. How do I get the smell out?
Answers:
This may be a tough one. . . I'd start with putting
maybe 1/4 cup of baking soda inside and letting it set awhile -then probably repeating a time or two.
Also, if you have someplace it could just hang and get fresh air around it for a few days, it would
probably make a huge difference. I had the same problem with a chair given to me. So I just put in in the sunroom and left the windows open for a couple of weeks ~occasionally giving it a good spray of "odor out". After that, I would get a whiff every once in a while of tobacco, but it wasn't long before it really was "smoke free".
Good Luck!!
why did your friend give you a second-hand purse??
air it out and try a fabric refresher like febreeze if it has a interior made of fabric
Try to turn it wrong side out and spray that with vinegar water. Then put it in front of a fan til dry.Still smell spray again.Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and dry well with paper towel. The vinegar will get the smell out.Hope this helps.
