How do you get tough stains out of your clothes?
Question:I tried shout, oxi-klean, every stain remover you could imagine. help!!
Answers:
blood- hydrogen peroxide, stain stick for everything else, bleach for white, some just don't come out
it depends on the fabric and what type of stain.
Before drying in dryer is best time to get out stains. Otherwise it is either much tougher or permanent.
After 40 years of experience, I have very few items ever needed to stains.
grease (greasy food dropped onto shirt, etc...), blood, lipstick, grass, etc... (these are protein stains), put full strength liquid laundry soap on spot, rub into fabric & wash (don't let it dry on there - do this when ready to wash).
sticky gum, glue then it is either rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid.
hard to remove stains including tar or permanent marker but the material MUST BE checked if it is COLOR FAST. Lava soap to inside seam & see if it takes color out. If not rub Lava soap and water onto spot, scrub with brush, rinse, wash.
Lava soap will clean yellow mustard or koolaid stains from your kitchen counter, too. Do not use on anything that will remove color (check even white first) nor on anything with a shine like your car - - will remove shine/finish.
It all depends on what the stain is.
If its blood..Hydrogen peroxcide
if its ink....Rubbing alcohol
if its on a white piece of clothing ....bleach
You have to let us know what kind of stain you are talking about.
