How can I remove anti-perspirant build-up from a cotton t-shirt?
Question:My husband wears grey cotton t-shirts for work. The under arm area on some of them has become stiff and white from a build-up of his anti-pespirant. How can I remove this?
Answers:
Soak the stain in white vinegar for 30 minutes. Then, launder the shirt in the warmest possible water for the type of fabric using an enzyme detergent like Wisk or Tide.
Another alternative is to rub a little liquid detergent on the stain, leave it for about 10 minutes, and wash the garment normally afterwards. Next time, wait for the antiperspirant to dry before dressing.
Try some Awesome cleaner, or grease lighting they work well. Just spray either on scrub let sit awhile then wash. I have use Dawn before just let it sit on the spot over night before washing.
USE VINEGAR AND THROW IT IN THE WASHER
Make a paste of baking soda and water and rub it in the spot then wash as usual. It works for me.
Honestly? It's a plain t-shirt. It's really not worth the effort. Just replace them.
Go over the spot with liquid detergent and wash in the hottest water safe for the fabric. If the stain is heavy place the garment face ddown on paper towels and sponge the stain with drycleaning solvent. Rub with liquid detergent, rinse and then launder in very hot water.
