Use Dawn dish soap, Lestoil, or if you don't have either of these products on hand, use some shampoo on a wet rag. Rinse well..

There are several de-greasers in the cleaning asle of any grocery or drug store. You can also use some lemon juice or dawn and water solution.

De greaser is a good idea just make sure you read the label if you can use it on a painted wall.
If not try vinegar , and make sure you try a small patch on the wall just in case Any of these products leave a mark .
Try a Mr. clean magic eraser but very lightly. If your wall paint has any gloss in it at all it might ruin the finish. Try in an inconspicuous spot like in a closet first. Those magic erasers work SO great. Good luck.
Mr. Clean's "Magic Eraser" be careful if you rub too hard it will take the paint off the wall! It works that good!
