Are Hoover Vacuums always noisy, have just bought one,its hurts my ears!?
Question:can I take it back?
and would I be better getting a Vax??
Answers:
If you are worried about your hearing ring your local Council's Environmental Health Department. They have equipment to test the decibel levels of your vacuum. Excess noise can damage your hearing. I had a Goblin Scoot which hurt my ears. I was glad when the thing broke! My vacuum now is an Electrolux Cyclone Power which is strong on suction and easy on the ears. I think manufacturers should be made to state the decibel levels on their products, or that we could listen to them first before we buy.
for the most part; yes. try wearing earplugs if it hurts badly. =)
Vacuum cleaners have always been noisy! Perhaps those new fangled "Dyson" vacuum cleaners are quieter?!?! LoL
They are rubbish. Hoover have sold out over the past few years, trading on thier name and shipping all manufacturing to cheaper ubesticaistaniski
Try Bosch - we use them in our B&B and they are fantastic.
All vacuums are noisy but if it hurts your years there's is something wrong. I like Hoover and really don't have a problem with the noise level.
did you forget to put the muffler on it ?
If it hurts your ears take it back. You shouldn't have to keep something that is such an annoyance, and possibly a danger to your hearing!! Next one you buy, see if you can try it in the store first.
You mean a Hoover make, as distinct from the generic term , I presume ? They should not be that noisy , it may be making a noise at a frequency that is annoying to you. I have found Dyson the noisiest. But I should take it back and ask to hear others until you find one that suits. In any case yours may be faulty.
Vacs are noisy no matter what brand is owned...
Take it back and go to a store that lets you try the unit in the store and then purchase that one that you think is best on the noise level.unfortunately we do need vacs to clean..
You are judging by NOISE...not brand!
Good Luck!
PS: I own a Hoover/Eureka/Oreck with hepa filters/multi filter units and a Shark premium for quick floor clean up say for little spill areas or after dinner around the table/kitchen.all have a purpose on my multi level house...
I bought a vax and it's the loudest one i've ever had.
