What's the best way to get encrusted toothpaste off my electric toothbrush ?

Question:Is there something that will dissolve it ?

Answers:
water

Try filling a glass with mouthwash and soak your brush in it - that should help it loosen and come off with a little wipe. It's better than using straight water and is safe.
By the way, did you know that bathroom germs from flushing a toilet spread 10 feet in all directions. For this reason I don't have toothbrushes in a regular toothbrush holder (ceramic) or in a cabinet (not airtight). Keep your toothbrushes in glasses of mouthwash - one glass per person, never share (even the reasonably priced stuff is okay) and that will protect them. Change the mouthwash every 4-5 days or so. Just an FYI.
make sure the toothpaste you use is completely off the handle and water is out of the charger. Take the toothbrush completely apart and use hot water and if necessary a q-tip to get in the crevices of the inner part of the brush. When calcium buildup occurs on a possible 3 connector joints of the brush, either litely scubb it off. There are two magnets in the base that gathers the charge from your charging holder. I would not use baking soda to dissolve this calcium buildup! If you check the manufactures suggestions on how to keep clean, this would help your specific make and model for maintenance. I called the telephone number once for the electric brush I use and found them very helpful! In fact they mailed me a new brush altogether without even wanting the old brush back. Also make sure the joints that are on the brush are tight. Hope this helps - Henry
use an old toothbrush to scrub your electric one.
hot water should do the trick. and let this be a lesson about washing it after each use. : ) also the person who said they soak their toothbrushes in mouthwash for a few days because (according to the, germs fly out of the toilet 10 feet) is gross, because now the toothbbrushes are sitting in 3 day old mouthwash, that now probably has dust and all kinds of germs in the cup.. gross.. alcohol dissolves when left open so the alcohol in the mouthwash has most liekly evaporated so their toothbrushes are most likely sitting in a cess pool. i get nauseous just thinking about it. wash your toothbrush with super hot water. the toothpaste should scrub off. keep your toothbrush in its holder and you will be fine. and a little knowleade about bathrooms, the toilet is usually one of the cleaner places in a house because we clean it better than other areas, even the area directly around the sink. i keep my electric toothbrush on its charger in a seperate part fo my house...
