What is the best way to clean platinum and diamond rings?

Question:I've heard that some products used to clean other jewelery doesn't work for platinum

Answers:
I clean my wedding bands with toothpaste and water. Just like you are about to brush your teeth, squirt a bit onto an old toothbrusg and scrub over a sink (be sure to plug it so your ring don't fall down the drain). Get every nook and cranny and rinse well with water. It'll look like you had it done by a professional and it is safe for ALL types of jewelry! :)

wal mart .99 cent jewerly cleaner
i have heard of trying alka-seltzer and water and letting it sit for a couple minutes.
TRY TOOTHPASTE AND WATER
go and get a sonic jewelry cleaner. about 15 bucks. you put your ring and bracelets, whatever, into the little tray. it has a cleaning solution and it uses sound to take off the crud. my ex wife had one and she would just put her jewelry into it when she wanted it to sparkle and left it for an hour or so. cleans it up very nice.
she had lots of platinum and diamonds by the way.
Diamond rings can be cleaned by using a solution made from 1 tablespoon of ammonia and a few soap flakes in 2 cups of warm water. Rinse afterwards in clear warm water and dip them in surgical spirit to restore their lustre. Platinum & Gold can be washed in warm soapy water
Just manually wash your dishes instead of using a dishwasher. I don't have a dishwasher and wash my dishes in various brands of dish-washing liquid like Palmolive, Dawn, etc. The dish-washing liquid makes my diamond and other rings really sparkle.
I use toothpaste, water and a toothbrush.
I was actually told this back in high school by a reputable company that sold my schools class rings. My rings have sparkled since then.
I clean my rings at least once a month.
The toothbrush gets all the nooks & crannies in the ring. The toothpaste makes the rings sparkle.
use toothpaste and rub allover ring and then rinse. pour vinegar over it don't rinse off just dry with a cloth then walla! sparkly clean!
