Removing Sweat Stains From White T-Shirts?
Question:Was wondering how to remove sweat stains from white T-Shirts. They are a 50/50 Polyester/Cotton mix, as they don't seem to shrink much is why I choose to wear them. Does that make it harder for the sweat stains to come out?
I've tried bleach, a whole gallon of vinegar in a wash of whites, & some generic non-bleach whitener powder.
Any ideas? I'd hate to buy new ones as I'm a cheap. HEHE

i dont know if they have the store Dollar General by you and you may be able to buy it somewhere else but its called Mean Green its a spray stain remover its in a green and i think orange bottle its got mean looking eyes on the front of the bottle it works for everything my boys get all knds of sweat **** dirt food blood everything on there clothes and it comes out . i wash and clean with it. you can get a gallon of it for like 5 dollars check Wal Mart too if you can find it
Use Nappisan. That is the stuff used for babies nappy's to soak in before washing.
Adding baking soda to the wash may help remove the stains.
If the stains have set for a long period of time it may be that you're stuck with them. However, next time you take off that dirty t-shirt spray it with a stain and spot remover before tossing it into the laundry basket. And make sure you wash them with a little cholorox when you do laundry. And also washing them within a couple of days of wear will help the stains from setting too deep. Just remember the spray!

I changed deodorant, and I totally quit wearing white t-shirts.
I like being cheap about some things, but the time wasted on those stains was wasteful, so thats why I stopped wearing white t-shirts.
btw, why is it that my husband works outside, and his sweat doesn't make those stains?
find someone who sells amway products. the SA8 detergent works combined with the stain spray works wonders!! ive gotten everything from baby things, food (husband is a chef in italian rest.) to even blood out in one washing!

1 cup of white vinegar in the rinse

Glad you asked this i was just ready to throw out some white t-shirts as they have stains but I'm going to try some of the suggestions to your answer.
Try washing them in hot water then lay them out in the sun(pit side up) and let it just sun bleach them white.It works on the 50/50 tees well.Then I would suggest that you try Mitchum Dry for deodorant it stops perspiration...
