How do I remove carpet glue from wooden floors?
Question:
Answers:
a product called Naval Jelly. you can find it in hardware stores, use gloves. it is a stripper.
I have this stuff called Goo Gone; removes grease, tape, stickers, crayon, gum, adhesives, etc.
I bought a case of it on eBay, but you can get it at your local hardware stores like Ace, Home Depot, Lowes, like that. It comes in an 8oz bottle, looks like lemon extract, just tip the bottle and squirt onto a rag; very easy to use. It works wonders. It should work for you.
Get some bags of play sand(for kids sandboxes)
Duct tape the soles of your shoes, so you don't track it all over your house, peel the duct tape and glue mess off!
Spread some sand and get your floor machine, with a sanding pad of 80-100 grit start sanding.
The glue will ball up, with the sand as a media to cling on and not stick back to the floor and other glue, from the heat of sanding.
Or you could remove the old carpet adhesive with orange clean, a good stiff long brush and plenty of elbow grease. No need to worry about fumes or combustion with the orange clean either
-OR-
Denatured alcohol.
Good Luck To Ya!
