Depends on the finish but here's something you can try! Wipe down the table with a damp cloth first. Then take a walnut, break it in half and rubb it over the spot. The walnut works like a polish for the table plus it removes the dirt.

It depends on the finish and what the stain actually did to the table. If it penetrated the finish you can lightly sand it and apply more finish to it. You hust need to know what kind of finish it is. Laquer is a common finish because of its durability.
