How do you make socks soft?
Question:what should my girlfriend use to make her socks really soft in the washer? downy doesnt seem to work that well. they always come out kind of stiff and they get loose around the top kind of by your ankle.
Answers:
One thing that really helps is drying them in the clothes dryer. That will soften your socks more than anything. BUT, another important thing that you can do is to add a cup of baking soda to your wash water. This will soften the WATER and enable your detergent to clean better and this will also help soften your socks. I would still use liquid fabric softener but the best thing after washing them is to put them in the dryer with a dryer softener sheet. This always will make something softer than "air drying" it. Hope this helps!!
Downy should do the trick-- the loosening around the ankle is I bet she folds them and then turns one inside the other- therefore stretching the outside of one sock---don't fold them like that- just fold them but dont tuck one in the other..try downy with lavendar---I actually by the Tide that has it in it and I don't need a softener.
put some baking soda in the wash , arm and hammer is my personal favorite!
IF YOU USE GOOD LAUNDRY SOAP (NOT THE CHEAP KIND) AND LIQUID DOWNY YOUR SOCKS AND CLOTHES SHOULD BE VERY SOFT. I HAVE USED CLEAN BREEZE TIDE AND THEN LIQUID DOWNY SOFTNER AND EVERYTHING IS SOFT AND SMELLS GREAT.
1/2 cup of borax in the wash
1 cup of white vinegar in the rinse
Dryer Max Dryer Balls in the dryer
