Answers:
If you wish to get rid of the grease then best using warm water just enough to cover the stains. add a couple of spoonfuls of baking powder, leave for 10 min´s . This will remove most of the grease, but you can be there till the cow´s come home , using cold water will not shift grease

cold water does not cut grease regardless of the detergent that you use, you will have to take a container of hot water outside to clean the fryer and then rinse with cold once it is clean
Its gonna be hard to clean with cold water so your best bet would be dawn with oxy in it. at least all the grease stuck around it will loosen up and slide off.
If it's impossible to carry some hot or warm water out to the frier, the best general dish detergent I've used is Dawn though it's hard to find sometimes. You could also try an industrial supplier for a heavy duty detergent; you'd want to be able to rinse very well afterwards.
I would boil a couple big pots of water on the stove and pour into fryer outside with a few squirts of dish soap. :)
