What is the best method for cleaning the interior of a toaster oven?
Question:It has been used for steaks and other fatty foods that splatter when broiled. It has not been cleaned for months.
Answers:
New toaster oven.
buy a can of oven cleaner and spray it down let it set over night with the cleaner on it then in the moring wipe it down with hot water
Elbow grease -- Remove the tray and rack and wash them separately in your sink. Take the toaster oven itself outside on your back steps (or where it doesn't matter if you splash and make a mess) and with a bucket of hot soapy dish water and a dish rag or old but clean face towel, start wiping it down. Change your water several times and after it seems clean enough, wipe it with clear warm water.
Just need to get the grease out of the oven because it is a fire hazard.
Oven cleaner works best. Spray it on (avoid spraying on the burners - it will stink when you heat it up after cleaning it) and let it sit for an hour or two (depending on how bad the splatter is) and then with gloves and a towel, wipe it off. It usually comes off really easy if it has been sitting there. Also, don't buy the cheap oven cleaner - the store brand or something from the dollar store - it doesn't work nearly as good as Easy Off Oven Cleaner.
