What is the best way to protect your clothes against moths?

Question:especially my cashmere sweaters. thanks :)

Answers:
Place them inside large ziplock bags that they make especially for clothes. You can get them at wal-mart, etc. If you use moth-balls they will stink for ever and the same with cedar trunks.

Cedar chips/hangers or moth balls in your closet.
in barbados we use bayleave and that works.
buy a cedar plank of wood and put it in the back of your closet.

it smells better than moth balls. You can use them also.
Before storing clothes, clean or wash the items. then seal them in large polythene bags with adhesive tape
Before storing woolens, spray with a moth killer. The clothes will need a good airing before wearing them again.
As further precaution, sprinkle drawers with moth repellent crystals, available from chemists
mothballs or cedar squares...how about a zip-lock plastic bag.
The only thing that has worked for me was to buy a cedar chest. I bought a used one at an estate sale for $20. Another thing to remember is not to leave your sweaters laying around. When you take it off, store it right away. I had a cashmere sweater in my laundry hamper that I put off washing because I had to hand wash it. When I did wash it, it had a couple unrepairable holes. I loved that sweater!
