How do I remove mothball smell from a polyethylene/polypropylen... jelly mould?

Question:A relative stored a plastic jelly-mould (design very difficult to replace) in a cupboard with mothballs. The mothball smell has transferred through several layers of plastic to the jelly-mould. I've tried soap and water, sodium bicarbonate and scrubbing to remove the smell. Any ideas which will leave the jelly mould useable and smell-less?
