Lots and lots of clorox! you need to clean everything if it has a freezer clean that out too. scrub it down with soap and clorox thern rinse it and put some baking soda in it. Should work.
I can suggest this. You can wash in the inside of the fridge with Milton. Milton is a sterilizing solution used to clean new born baby´s bottles, so you will be sterilizing your fridge,. This way it will rid all germs. Leave the fridge open to give it plenty fresh air
i agree with bugaboo as well!!

worked with ours
Cut a lemon in half and place it in the fridge it should absorb any bad odours.
Try vodka, after cleaning the fridge, wipe vodka over all the surfaces, and then leave and then wash off after about an hour, its a antiseptic and kills germs very well, hopefully the pong will be gone.
You could try dryer sheets that have scent.
Bicarbonate of soda.
wash the inside with a lemon solution than put a box arm and hammer baking soda in the frig and leave it for a couple of days than the smell will go away
Bicarb of soda. Beer fridge. How lucky are you!
Sprinkle baking soda in the bottom shelves and take out the drawers and sprikle down on that too. Let sit for about a day or 2, then clean it out! Also clean down any shelves & drawers
with a mix of Dawn odor control dish soap and add baking soda to that water as well. After all the cleaning make sure you keep a fresh box (opened) in the fridge!
Watkins products make a little canister of some charcoal based odor trap last for a whole year!! (shake it once a month!) About 7 dollars I think.
You can order online !

Mix baking soda and water together and put it in a spray bottle. remove the drawers on the bottom of the fridge wash them out with industrial type soap and spray the whole inside of the fridge close the door and wipe it about an hour to 30 minutes later. That should work. the only other thing I know of is vinegar and water but sometimes that leaves its own smell.
Answer one is correct because it will absorb the smell.
Wash it out with hot water & baking soda. Mix a solution up in a bucket, & scrub the refrigerator really well, including rubber gaskets. Leave the door open, with the unit unplugged, so it'll air out. It'd be a good idea to put a box of opened baking soda in your refrigerator to absorb odors.
put some coffee in a bowl and leave it uncovered in the fridge, it absorbs the bad odour.
baking soda and vinegar should kill the smell and bacteria, too.
Is something fouling the air around your refrigerator? Assuming it's not a long-forgotten dish left inside, there are two common causes: mold growing inside the drip pan, or dust overheating on the condenser coils.

Cleaning a drip pan
Steps

Step One
Remove the grill along the bottom of your refrigerator. Locate the drip pan, using a flashlight if necessary. The pan should be sitting on a set of black condenser coils.

Step Two
Remove the pan and wash it. Use a mixture of warm, soapy water and bleach to kill the mold.

Step Three
Reinstall the pan and the grill.

Cleaning the condenser coils

Step One
Locate the coils. They look like thin, black radiators and may be underneath the fridge or attached to the back.

Step two
If the coils are on the back, pull the refrigerator away from the wall, then vacuum the dusty coils, using the brush and crevice attachments. Reinstall the refrigerator grill.

Step Three
If the coils are underneath, pull off the grill and remove the drip pan. Vacuum the dusty coils, using the crevice attachment to get between them (see illustration). Take care not to damage the delicate coils. Reinstall the refrigerator grill.

Overall Tips & Warnings

* To clean coils thoroughly, buy a condenser coil brush. Sold at home centers and appliance stores, these long, thin brushes are designed to fit into tight spots.
* Your refrigerator's electrical parts can produce an acrid smell if they malfunction. If the strategies suggested here don't cure your problem, ask a professional to check your system.
