Will linen & rayon fabric shrink if machine washed?

Usually natural fabrics shrink when machine washed, but for some reason linen doesn't do this. Rayon will not shrink, it's synthetic.
Use cold water and light cycles to wash these fabrics.
No not if washed in cold water, light spin and hang to dry outside is best but inside does just aswell.
