How do I remove tar from wood decking?

Question:The deck is treated lumber but has not been stained. We had to temporarily tar paper and tar the seams of our "temporary" roof before the trusses arrived. Footprints are left on our deck from stepping in the tar. Any suggestions on removing it?

Answers:
Use VM&P naphtha, which you can get at the hardware store. It is a very light solvent that will dissolve the tar immediately. Use lots, so it won't make a ring. It evaporates very quickly.
