How do I remove tar from wood decking?

Question:The deck is treated lumber but has not been stained. We had to temporarily tar paper and tar the seams of our "temporary" roof before the trusses arrived. Footprints are left on our deck from stepping in the tar. Any suggestions on removing it?

Answers:
Ok,mineral spirits should do the trick.Be sure to wear gloves.I would also follow up with a deck cleaning solution and a power washer.Just be sure not to apply too much pressure.Use the proper nozzle and a sweeping action. This should have your deck looking like new. After a thorough drying, apply a sealer like Thompsons or a colored stain sealer.Good Luck.

Googone. They sell it at Wal-Mart.
