How do you get ballpoint ink out of plain carpet?
Question:
Answers:
carbona ink remover. it works really well
I would try vinegar! or maybe oxy-clean!
use rubbing alcohol, it will get rid of the ink. pour a little on, let it sit for a minute maybe or less, then dab and repeat
if this does not work, use ammonia. 1 part ammonia to two parts water will get almost anything out of carpet. if you have a really bright color, maybe test for colorfastness first. other than that, tried and true!
(vinegar can set ink and dyes, think of easter egg dye, you put vinegar in with the boiling water and tablets to ensure brighter colors, as per the directions)
My husband got ink on my couch. It was two days old! I used oxy. I diluted it according to the package and sprayed it on the stain and gently wiped it. I worked slowly but I eventually got it all out. Woolite Oxy Deep carpet spray is also fantastic. I also visited the Shout website and they recommend using rubbing alcohol or acetone(nail polish remover). After you use either make sure you flush the carpet with water. Use this as a last resort, rubbing alcohol or acetone may change the color of the carpet and they recommend this for use on clothes. It might work. Good Luck!
They sell this great product called "spot shot". You can buy it at walmart and most grocery stores in with the carpet cleaners. It is actually made to get out pet stains but it works great for almost anything.I have 2 kids and 3 cats and I always keep a couple cans of this on hand.I have not found anything that it hasn't gotten out of carpet (or off my couch for that matter).
