How do you fix bleeched carpet?

Question:I was painting and i got bleach in stead of carpet cleaner. it didn't look bad about 2 hours ago, and it is pink. right in the middle of the floor! what do i do! i don't want my mom and dad to see it!(my mom and dad let me paint!)

Answers:
You can't get rid of it - the color is gone. You could pull up the carpet and have it redyed. Or find some permanent coloring the same color as the rest of the carpet. Or put a small rug or piece of furniture over the spot and no one will notice it. But I'm afraid you'll have to 'fess up to your parents. I hope they aren't tough on you. Good luck.

Sorry hon, I don't think you can fix that...Put a rug over it?
Bleach removes color- it can't be taken out like a stain. As others have suggested you can cover it with a rug (but still need to tell your parents), or check into getting it dyed.
i'd say take a utility knife and cut that spot out. then go and find a small piece of carpet of the same color and replace it. i had that happen to a rug and it looks fine now.
They will have to have someone in to dye the spot. The bleach took out the color, nothing you can do about it now. Except offer to help pay for the repair ($50 to $100).

p.s. to all of this advise about cutting the carpet and adding a patch: the patch shows. It will be a good fix but not perfect. You really really need to tell your parents before you go cutting the flooring up, they will be more angry at that than the original accident!
With a safety cutting blade , cut the piece of bleached carpet out to expose the backing beneath, Cut enough matching carpet / tufts, to fill the hole from a place that it will not show, or a spare piece of carpet. Dab the bottom of the hole and the ends of the tufts with a suitable latex adhesive, then insert the tufts into the hole. Leave to dry, then trim if necessary and brush with the pile. I think you should tell them accidents happen
Bleach Stain Removal from Carpet
A bleach stain doesn't have to be the end of your carpet. If it's not a huge spot, you can get away with repairing the spot and no one will be the wiser. It's not as simple as cleaning carpet stains, but it's cheaper than tossing your rug out to the curb. Cut a swatch from a hidden area of your carpet or leftover remnant. Take your swatch to your local crat store and see if you can find a fabric paint or dye that will match your carpet. If this isn't a viable option, a professional who can remove carpet stains may even be able to recommend a product to use to get the color back into your carpet.Good Luck! =)
Theres really nothing you can do about that... Try to cover it up with a cute rug, or move the furniture around and make sure one end of your bed covers the stain... Other than doing either of those, you can just bleach the whole carpet and it'll all be pink lol
