How to clean wood laminate floors?
Question:I've tried everything and nothing seems to work because it leaves behind a film.
Answers:
I use Windex, or any other spray window cleaner, and wipe with a regular slightly dampened mop. It does not leave any residue, or streaks, and will not harm the floor
I sweep 1st. Then I damp (not wet) mop with some pine cleaner. I also have a carpet cleaner that has a wood floor cleaner but, I find that does leave a film.
As far as I know you are only supposed to use clear white vinegar distilled with a little water. I have laminate floors and that's how I have always cleaned them. the smell of the vinegar only lasts for a couple of minutes and it does not leave any film behind. I distille mine in a little spray bottle, half vinegar, half water. As I mop the floors I go on spraying. you can always just distill it in a bucket but buckets for me are to messy.
good luck!
I've had that problem in the past. I eventually had to take a couple of clean, dry bath towels and "skate" around the rooms to get the film off. Once I got it all off, I've never mopped with anything but vinegar and very hot water and never had that problem again. I did change my mop head before mopping again, as I was afraid some of the residue (PineSol) might still be in the mop.
When you mop the floors make sure your mop is wrung out as well as possible and try to get some air moving across the floors to dry them as quickly as possible. Good luck!
try the swifer wet cloths....they work great! if you still have the film, you've obviously tried a liquid of some sort that should not have been used on laminate flooring.
i use windex on my floors and it cleans great--no film left behind
I use a swifter first. I cup of vinegar in warm water, a drop of dish detergent, and a few drops of lemon. Cleans laminate flooring. Got that from the Queen of Clean show. It works.
