Used Goo-Gone on a purse now it stinks like rotten oranges HELP!?

Question:My girlfriend's cloth Coach purse got some sticky sludge on it at a bar a couple weeks ago. SO I thought I would be nice and get the sludge off with an old bottle of Goo-Gone I had in the cabinet. Well the goo did indeed come off but the rotten oranges smell remained on the purse essentially ruining it until I can get this odor out. What can I use to remove the rotten oranges smell the goo-gone left behind on this cloth purse? (The odor has been there for over a week now.

Answers:
Goo Gone is a petroleum based product, so it is probably still stuck in the fabric. Try some good soapy warm water and scrub the area well, then let it air dry. If that doesn't work, use some Odo-Ban or Febreeze.

febreeze it?
im not sure if it'll work but you could try febreeze
Ammonia and water. Put a mixture of ammonia and water in a big bowl and place the purse in ith (as long as it is not suede or leather) Let it sit for a few minutes and then let it hang dry. I hope this works for you.
