What's the best grout cleaner?

Question:I have white ceramic everything in my bathroom. It's beautiful, but I'm an OCD clean freak. I've used bleachless Soft Scrub today. It did a nice job, but I feel it could be better. Is there anything sold specifically for cleaning grout?

Answers:
There are specific grout cleaners but they are quite expensive because the tubes are so small, I think I was able to clean my surround in the bath once with the tube I purchased, I didn't even get the floors.

Now I just use this:
Instead of tile and grout cleaners I simply pour a small amount of Cascade Liquid Dishwasher Detergent all along the grout, and allow to sit for 30 minutes, then wipe with a damp cloth, and poof nice and white!!

Hope this helps!

quit using all them chemicals and go outside and dig in the dirt. plant a few flowers or something. theres more to life than grout.
its called acid but use precautions it is dangerous
Yes! There are three products I absolutely love. As an OCD clean freak as well, I can totally relate to your semi-satisfaction with soft scrub.

1. Make a paste out of good old-fashioned Comet powder & a little bit of water. Get a sturdy grout brush, and go to town. If that doesn't get it all the way white, move on to #2.

2. KABOOM makes a gel that comes in a squeeze bottle where the cap is on the bottom. You squeeze a little of this gray paste out and again, using your sturdy grout brush, go at it. If that's STILL not quite white enough...

3. CLR Bath Cleaner - it's good for soap scum & hard water deposits, but it does a great job on grout, too.

4. If all else fails - Bleach. Straight, undiluted bleach.

Of course you should be wearing eye protection the whole time since a grout brush does have a tendency to fling little bits of cleanser everywhere.
i have moved into a new place and the tile was gorgeous but the grout was black!
i took strait bleach in a squirtbottle and a toothbrush and got to work. it was very hard but if you have fans going and the windows and doors open it should be ok. make sure to follow up by hot water to remove excess bleach that has dried or it will stink for days
MR CLEAN
Go to some place like Lowes or even Wall-Mart they have grout cleaners for grout. Just follow directions.
