Any suggestions for cleaning a glass shower stall?

Question:I've tried comet, scrubbing bubbles, CLR and anything on the label that says lime or hard water stains removal. Nothing seems to get that off. There is just this "etched" look to the glass. Any suggestions? I was thinking of just hiring a maid service to use it as I assume they would use more commercial strength chemicals but I wanted to give it one last go before I totally give up. Thanks!

I agree with the vinegar , but I would try baking soda with it like a paste. When you mix the baking soda and vinegar it will foam up together. If that does not work I know this sounds crazy but try WD40. It is good to get soap scum off. It is a good water repellent too. WD40 is my last resort if nothing else works.

I might add if you use WD40 make sure the air is stirring like a fan or window open.

try mixing half vinegar with half water and see if this will help you. good luck.
I am a housekeeper and even with everything I'VE tried still haven't come up with something that gets rid of that...The best I CAN do is a product called Starpower and a mr. clean magic eraser...Those etchings though...??...I think they have to be prevented and once they are there... they are there...Maybe you and I will get the answer here from someone else!...That would be great!
mix 1 part ammonia 1 part vinegar and 1 1/2 parts water, if you have a DollarTree store where you are pick up The Works for toilet bowls (wear Gloves) it is acid based , but awesome stuff I clean apartment tubs with it when my cleaning crew is unable to show
Try lime away.
There is a product called Lemi Shine. The Hard water Expert. The Lady that cleans for my mother used it the other day to clean the glass Blocks in Mom's shower. It cleaned them better than any CLR or any other hard Water Product. The 10 year old shower looks new again! She just mixed it in a bucket with hot water and scrubbed the walls with a rag, then Rinsed.
On the Label it said it removes Tough Spots and Film, For Sparkling Dishes and Glass Wear, Plus dishwasher cleaner.

It comes in a little bottle, with a green lid, it is the consistancy of sugar. We buy it at WalMart on the same isle as the Dishwasher Detergent (Cascade & etc.) I haven't tried it yet just bought mine this morning.
I'll try to report back after using it. Good Luck
the best thing i've found for showers and tubs is called krud kutter. you can only get it at home depot or lowes (i think near the paint stuff), but it works pretty good on hard water stains or discoloration.
you may try equal parts of water and vinegar and use a heavy duty scrubbing pad and scrub away. you may also try kaboom.

according to martha stewart the only way you can maintain a glass shower door clean by drying them everytime you use it. i try to do it when i'm not in a hurry.

i know it sound hard because of time constraints we had. but that's the surest way to keep it clean.

good luck.
I spray the inside of my glass shower with Comet Bathroom Cleaner (non-aerasol) and let it set for about 15 minutes before I get in to take a shower, then at the end of my shower I simply rinse it off. For really tough stains, I'll scrub it with a brush then rinse it off. I also use a squeegy on the glass after taking a shower in between cleanings. If you really want it to sparkle try rubbing alcohol and paper towels on the inside and outside after cleaning.
The Works shower cleaner. If needed scrub with a green scratch pad.
vinegar
What about oxy clean? I have heard that works. Of course, CLR usually works for me. You could also try Lime away. Or I would go to a place like Lowe's or The Home Depot and see if I can find some industrial strength cleaner to get it off. Just make sure you read the directions really well and wear gloves and mask if necessary. Also, one you get it clean, I would wipe it down everyday after I got out of the shower with some type of cleaner. That way you can prevent it from getting so bad. I also like to use that Tilex shower to shower spray on my glass stall doors and it works wonders. Hope this helps. Good luck and Have a great weekend! :)
