How can I get rid of nasty smell from my brand new leather jacket?

Question:

Answers:
Bring your jacket to the dry cleaners they also do a very good job on cleaning things. I wouldn't try anything from home specially if it is expensive you don't want to ruin it. Go to the dry cleaners they will take good care of it for you.

The leather chemicals in treating operations can be neutralized by using a conditioning product. What I found is genericaly called "saddle soap" It comes in different forms(sprays, liquids and paste) I like the paste form in a tin because when I use it with water it makes nice slippery soap-bubbles that does a cleaning action as well as the lanolin makes the leather nice! It may take a few cleanings to get the chemicals out; but they will come out!
Try letting it sit outside on a breezy day or in a room with an open window to air it out...
Put it in a large plastic bag and sprinkle lots of hammer baking soda in the bag. Tie the bag closed and leave for a couple of days.
This reason for the baking soda is to remove all smells! You could try charcoal too but baking soda is my favorite!
Nasty?? think of how the cow smelled that the leather came from!! Men find the smell extremely sexy!!
put it in the dryer (on non heat) and let it tumble around in there for a bit, it will help to decrease the smell, without melting it, or anything like that. Just remember, put it on air dry.
