Cowboy boots molded in the closet?

Question:We were only gone for a week and my husbands cowboy boots molded in the closet. What is the best way to clean them and prevent this from happening again? We live in the Houston area and it was humid but we did leave the A/C while we were gone though set a bit higher than if we were home. Thanks for your help.

Call a shoe repair and ask them what they suggest. Honestly, I don't think that they can be repaired.
