Is it ok to wash sponges?
Question:is it ok to wash sponges that u clean dishes with in the washing machine??? or does it ruin it or something??
Answers:
No.It's more than likely going to rip and/or tears them depending upon the sponge.Realistically, you need to replace your dish sponge weekly or bi-weekly.I keep two on hand, one for the really nasty pots and pans from dinner, and the other for cups and silverware and whatnot.Germs can lurk and multiply in those sponges, and lead to diseases if you aren't careful.Always use hot, soapy, water when washing, and rinse your dishes thoroughly. If you don't want to buy new sponges, you can even go a step further and purchase the one-time use cloths to do your dishes with. The best dish is a clean dish lol.Hope this helps!
well sponges clean themselfs.or do they?
Yes...you can put it either in the washing machine or the dishwasher. However, there's no need to put it in the dryer.
If you want to throw it in a machine to clean it, I would suggest the dishwasher so it doesn't get torn up from the spinning of the washing machine.
Another effective way to get rid of germs from a sponge is to put it in the microwave (but you have to make sure that the sponge is DAMP when you put it in, or else it may catch on fire!)
If the sponges are in good condition: We don't use a dishwasher so in a soap & bleach solution, I put my sponges in the laundry with the towels. I don't put them in the drier, though.
I wash mine in the dishwasher. I don't think washing them in the machine would harm them.
i dont put mine in the washer... i bowl water in my tea pot and dump it over them... i only keep sponges for maybe 2 weeks. they say you can also put them when they are semi wet in the microwave for a minute to kill gems! good luck!
I wouldn't put them in the washing machine. If they are in good shape, I soak them in diluted bleach and let air dry.
2 minutes in the microwave kills all germs and scrub brushes too,
I pop mine in the TOP rack of the dishwasher everytime I turn it on (if you use the washing machine do not put them in the direr or they come out all small and dried up)
throw them in the washing machine and let them air dry.
Yes, it is ok. I wash my sponge everyday by putting it in the dishwasher when I run it. I've also put a damp sponge into the microwave for 30 seconds. It kills most of the bacteria.
It's ok to wash them in the machine, doesn't do any harm but don't dry it.
