How do I use vinegar to clean my dishwasher?

Question:My dishwasher has 2 detergent reservoirs. I read that I am supposed pour 1 gallon on the bottom, but then again I read that I pour the vinegar in the detergent reservoirs? After that do I run it through a full cleaning cycle or just a rinse?

Answers:
I use baking soda and I put it in the dispenser and in the bottom. I then run it through the entire cycle.

I use a kool-aid lemonade packet and run it through the dishwasher. Works great

what I do is use one of the reservoirs.
