You can use a sweater shaver which you can pick up at the dollar store. There's the small battery operated kind and there's a larger one with an adapter. The larger one works best. There's a razor inside. It works like an electric shaver only on sweaters. Gotta be careful though and make sure the fabric is completely flat because it can make a hole.
Believe it or not you can also use a disposable razor as well. It works.

this might sound bad, but i found if you take a lighter and go across the fuzz balls they will burn off but dont leave the fire on them too long or you will burn the sweater and the fuzz balls will turn hard.
First, when washing it, turn it inside out before washing it. Use a lint roller brush to remove the fuzzies.
wrap masking tape around your hand with sticky side out, then brush up and down on the sweater to get fuzz balls off.
I would take some duct tape and wrap it around my hand so that the sticky part is on the outside. Then take your hand and pat it with the tape. I use this trick all the time and it works grate.
