Electric blanket?
Question:is it healthy to use electric blanket? if yes then which blanket is best.
Answers:
These items should not be sold. Very dangerous. It is not generally known that they give off electro-magnetic radiation, and being in close proximity it is intensified. Granny slippers electrically heated and joined used to be sold in the fifties. NOT ANY MORE for the same reason.
The bed in our last house went on fire, the matress was like the embers in a fire, fortunately we got it extinguished.
Yes, elecitric blankets are fine, but get a good quality one. I have no recommendation for which one is best, since they are generic items and will be different at different locations.
I am always so weary of them to be honest. My fire officer tells me that most fires he attends are from cigarettes and faults with electric blankets.
You can buy them now that will switch themselves off after a certain time...to prevent from over heating. Have a look at the "which "website as they review most appliances.
I grew up using but once my mom started cleaning for a 'disaster cleanup' company I quit. They typically cleaned up after housefires, floods that sort of thing and one housefire they cleaned up after was started by a short in a brand new electric blanket. I'll stick with flannel sheets and plenty of blankets from now on.
nooooooooo all that radiation next to your body all night long -no thanks
I stay away from them myself. I have seen alot of problems with them so I use flannel sheets instead. Yes they are just as warm.
In the winter they are the lap of luxury but with anything electric care must be taken .All blankets now only reach a limited heat this is for safety reasons ,the wires must never be allowed to bend and the blanket should be looked at and straightened every day as the bed is dressed . The one that cover the mattress like a fitted sheet are best the string ones go all over the place They can be machined washed following the manufacturers instructions .If it is for a young to middle aged person over/ or under blankets can be used for an elderly person then use only an over blanket in the case of bed wetting .All top brand names stores would have good ones (never buy second hand ) and they should meet the standered safety regulations , it is also important to point out that constant use of a el. blanket can cause a lot of static the person would have to be confined to bed for this to happen. Give yourself comfort and sleep well .
I discarded my old electric blanket. I bought a heated mattress pad instead. I love it.
Be carefull if your diabetic
