Airwick spill on varnished table.?
Question:My husband left an airwick oil thing on my table, and seeing as its transparent I didn't notice the spill until I tried to take off the tablecloth. Now I have a hand size area that is varnish free.
I know I'll have to have it all redone but right now I just want to get the oil off the table.
I've tried using Dawn, tried putting down paper towels and ironing a damp cloth to absorb it. Nothing is working. I'm contemplating using turps as a last resort but I need help urgently :)
Thanks in advance.

Is it a glass table or a wooden table? If it is glass, I would use Goof Off. You can get it at your local Lowe's or Home Depot. It comes in spray and liquid form. I personally do not like the spray. It gets everywhere. Get the liquid form and place some on an old cloth and rub it on the table. It gets anything off. I love it. It does have a weird odor, but it works wonders. Also, don't even think about getting the off brand of it like Goo Gone. It does not work. I have used this product to get off candle wax, oil, gum, sticker residue, and various other things. I love it! I always try to keep some handy because it works that good. If it is a wooden table, you can try the Goof Off. I would test it on an inconspicuous area first though; like maybe on the underside. I have used it on wood before to remove candle wax and it worked just fine. I made sure that as soon as I got the candle wax off though, that I went back over the wood with soapy water and then water to get any residue off. I then immediately cleaned my wood table with furniture polish. Doing this saved me the trouble and money of having to get it re-done. I hope this helps. Good Luck! :)
