Washing machine just stopped...no power?
Question:Its not a matter of the timer or the belt, or the water no getting to it. I believe its the power. You can go to turn it on and it just won't do anything. I don't hear any noise and I don't smell anything. We tried resetting the power but that didn't do anything.
What gives?

Well check if you have power at the outlet using a lamp that works at other outlets in the house. that will tell you if you have power or not.
What year and model is it?
did you check the plug/?

check fro loose connections or fuse issues.
get a manual at least.
did you reset the power to the proper circuit? My dryer sometimes goes out when I have the air conditioner on in very very hot weather. (cause the conditioner runs so much I think).

Check the motor, maybe it's busted.
When you say you tried resetting the power, did you mean you went to the house's circuit board and turned the circuit off and then on again? Make sure that's what you did.
Then, after resetting the fuse, have someone watch the circuit board while you try to turn the washer on again to make sure it isn't blowing the fuse again.
Perhaps a fuse inside the washer blew.

Make sure as part of "resetting" the breaker, that you switch it OFF and then switch it back ON again. You cannot reset most breakers by just moving the lever to the on position.
Also, are there any GFI's (ground fault interrupter) on the circuit? Those are notorious for tripping when placed on devices like washing machines and pumps.
You need to call a plumber and maybe an electrician. These aren't issues you can figure out for yourself and shouldn't. If the machine is only 4 yrs old and was new when you bought it, it sounds more like an electrical issue but a professional will be able to target it and fix it.
Check the plug in, to be sure it didn't burn out...=)
