Why is my blanket static-ey after I wash it?
Question:It's really annoying, that it always does that after I wash it. I don't like stinky, crusty bedding. What can I do to get rid of the static?
I'm pretty sure that the reason it gets static-ey is because my blankets are the fuzzy kind, so that mixed with the constant rub from the dryer...yeah.
Answers:
You should throw a dryer softener sheet in with the blanket when you dry it.
If you don't have those you can put fabric softener on a damp washrag and put that in the dryer with the blanket when you put it in to dry.
If you are hanging them on the clothesline to dry you need to use a fabric softener.
Fabric softeners take out most of the static.
Use some fabric softener (Downy is good) next time you wash your bedding.
Problem solved!
That is most likely the reason. If you get a humidifier for your bedroom it should cut down on some of the static. When we first bought our new couch it was always like that and it would shock me all the time.

thank goodness for static sheets
Chances are it is not just your sheets or blankets, it is probably very low humidity throughout you home. Get some moisture into the house and it will feel alot better all around.
