You may just need to suck it up and pay a professional : (
But before you do that try soaking the stain in Oxy Clean, it usually works for me.
dont
get the spot bot or new carpet
Try Goo-Gone orange scent. It takes out all sorts of stains and I imagine it can take out stains for carpets.
use vanish oxy action
bissel steam cleaner around 400 bucks or rent a rug doctor. both work very well ive seen my parents use them.
u call those peop;es on da tv that sing those korny songs that gets on everyones nerves.
If they look worse, it may be that you are pulling the dirt up to the surface and that if you do it a few more times, it may get better. What kinds of stains are they? For colored stains one thing that I have found very helpful is lemon juice. Put it on, let it set for a few minutes, then blot it out. Repeat if necessary. I have got stuff out that I never thought would come out with this method. (You are suppose to test carpet first in inconspicuous area). For dirt stains, just keep going with what you are doing.
First spray the stained area witha solution of Oxyclean and water. Let it sit for a few minutes then go over it with a carpet cleaning machine with clean water to rinse it. Sometimes you may ahve to go over it more than once
well you may think i am crazy but this works. i wouldnt have known it, but the lady i used to rent from showed me this and i have used it ever since.
get a carpet cleaning solution from the store, (Resolve or whatever you prefer) spray the spot real good with it and let it soak thru...then lay a white towel over it and take your iron (your regular old clothes iron) make sure it has water in it and is on the steam cycle. and iron the towel thats over the stain. This also works really well for kool aid, juice, soda, blood, wine.you name it. it pulls the stain right up into your towel. i just keep all my old towels and anyone that are throwing any out and put them away for this. you can use colors too but you are taking a chance of the color bleeding into your carpet so be careful...
It really depends on what you're trying to remove. Here are a few things that I have used with varying degrees of success:
Acrylic craft paint, dried and ground into carpet: WD40. worked great.
blood (gotta hate carnage cleanup. I kid, it was actually an injury from a packing knife while we were installing the carpet): peroxide. also worked wonderfully
red wine: white wine, soda water. tried and true
chocolate: 20 mule borax & dish detergent in hot water: worked well enough. left slight stains, but much improved.
I imagine you could use these with nearly the same result on stains similar to the ones I mentioned.
Some good cleaning products? I swear by LA's Totally Awesome!, most of the Awesome! cleaners do exactly what they claim to, and do it very well. Mean Green, Green Soap- this is excellent stuff, really gentle on the the surfaces, but hard on the offending spots.
Hope I helped :)
I am a flooring professional. Do not use Lemon Juice! Lemon Juice is only a very last resolution! It can bleach your carpet. Go to the Website for the Carpet and Rug Institute. They have a Carpet Cleaning section that list just about everthing under the sun that can get on your carpet and how to clean it. I would also look at Mohawk Industries and Shaw Industries website under cleaning guides. If you look at there warranties and care guides...they will void your warranty if you use something not listed or a Resolve cleaning agent. Most people have carpet from one or the other. The most recommended way to clean you carpet at home is with a clear dawn or ivory solution of warm water. If that does not work, most of them are going to recommend a 3 water to one part solution of WHITE vinegar. The problem is going to be if it has soaked into the padding then it may keep wicking up through the pad back into the carpet. The only way to stop this is deep hot water extraction cleaning machine by a professional.
If it is that bad the stains are deep I suggest a professional cleaner. Their equipment is much better a stronger more powerful and they have cleaners that get down into the deep stain.
I have used "Shout it Out" or "Spray-n-Wash". Works as good on carpets as it does on clothes. You might need to scrub it with a brush and let sit for awhile. Make sure you rinse several times with clear water. I have tried everything & this works the best.
