My carpet has mould on it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it. Brushing has not helped.?
Question:Do you know any natural solutions? The carpet is black. Thanks.

I really don't think there is any saving a carpet with mold. We had a flooded basement last year, and the carpet cleaner made a real fuss about using a special treatment on the carpet after we got it cleaned thoroughly and dried out, then he pulled up a section to check for mold, saying if the process didn't work, we would just have to get rid of it (can cause serious breathing problems even if you don't have any allergies or asthma). I would hire a professional carpet cleaner, if it is a small bit of mold and you feel like the carpet can be saved, otherwise, ask yourself how much your health is worth to you. If you can afford new carpeting, I would ditch the moldy one. Best of luck to you friend.
Wow.mold on a carpet. The best solution if it is a lot of mold is to remove the carpet. Mold can have a variety of health concerns linked to it. I don't know of anything that might work except a good shampooing and let it dry but there is no guarantee that will work. I guess if you are not willing to remove it you could try shampoo. Good luck.
I am a flooring contractor. If it is a little mold, you can have it professional cleaned via hot water extraction from a carpet cleaning person that specializes in mold removal. It should cost you about $150-200. If you have mold on carpet then it is probably on the pad and sub-floor also. So, pull the carpet back in that are and check for mold on the wall, pad and sub-floor. If it is there, clean with a bleach solution and let air dry, then have the carpets cleaned. If it is really bad. It is better to have the carpet pulled up, floor treated and new carpet put back. But solve why you got the mold there in the first place before beginning a resolution regimen. No since in doing all this if it's just going to come right back.
